How To Get Here

Flying

  • Easyjet fly from London Gatwick to Bordeaux which is an hour away and there are plenty of hire car rental desks.
  • Ryanair serve Bergerac airport from Liverpool, Cork, East Midlands, Bristol, Bournemouth and Stansted.
  • BA fly from Southampton, Heathrow, Gatwick and London City to Bergerac, Bordeaux and Toulouse.
  • Jet2 fly to Bergerac from Manchester and Leeds.

There are several car hire companies at Bergerac and Bordeaux airport.

Driving

The drive can be done in a day from Calais, Boulogne or the other northern France ports. It normally takes about 9 hours from Calais including stops.

The most popular route for western Dordogne is Calais > Rouen > Le Mans > Poitiers > Angouleme. 

The Portsmouth to Caen ferry is becoming a popular option now it is all motorway from Caen to Bergerac (about 7hrs drive), there is also the option of Portsmouth to St.Malo which is under 7 hr.
